Views from the West is the official blog of the School of Public Affairs at the University of Colorado Denver. It builds on the reputation of the school’s Views magazine and covers a broad range of topics through storytelling, commentary, images and multimedia. We also hope to engage conversations that lead to meaningful thought and action, and we encourage reader comments (but please abide by our social media community guidelines).
The CU Denver School of Public Affairs is ranked 34th among schools of public affairs in the United States by U.S. News & World Report. We offer a number of highly ranked programs, including environmental policy (ranked 10th), nonprofit management (15th), public management (24th), and city management and urban policy (25th). Our online Master of Criminal Justice program was recently ranked 12th.
We combine world-class faculty, an urban setting that creates opportunities for experiential learning, rigorous programs and flexible schedules. The result is a student body united in its vision for a better world and equipped with the practical skills to make it happen. Students gain real-world perspective working in the field and learning from professors who shape public policy through research. When students graduate, they’re not just ready to start making an impact: They’ve already begun.
