Colorado Department of Higher Education Capstone. Our mission is to provide access to high-quality, affordable education for all Colorado residents. Potential Project: Assistance with various research topics and projects related the educational pipeline in Colorado (K12 to workforce participation), postsecondary success of Colorado high school graduates, developmental education involvement, concurrent/dual enrollment participation, FAFSA completion, and workforce participation. Public Information Officer (Media Relations), City of Lakewood. The Public Information Officer for the City of Lakewood, Police Department, serves as the primary media contact on all police related issues both reactive and proactive. This includes writing news releases and other necessary documents, representing the City in public and with the media. Researching and gathering information on events and criminal incidents and responding to press inquiries and notifying the media of police incidents of public interest. Budget Manager, City of Thornton. Under direction, develops, implements, and administers the annual operating budget and the five-year capital improvement plan, performs special analyses and management of projects, and proposes, implements, and administers processes to accomplish the budgetary goals of the city of Thornton. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Commencement Reception!  The SPA Post-Commencement Reception will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018. 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Location:  Tivoli Student Union, Adirondacks Room #440/540, 900 Auraria Parkway, Denver.  Join us as we celebrate the achievements of our spring and summer 2018 graduates. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served, followed by a brief recognition ceremony. Children are welcome, and we’ll have special snacks just for them! Free to attend but please register your intentions online, RSVP for commencement reception.

ROW 12 – The 12th International Symposium for Environmental Concerns in Rights-of-Way Management. September 23-26, 2018 in Denver, Colorado. The theme of ROW 12 is focused on topics associated with environmental management of rights-of-way in the context of global climate change, including climate change adaptation and resiliency planning. The event is viewed as one of the best opportunities for practitioners in the industry to share and exchange knowledge on environmental management associated with the planning, construction and operations of linear rights-of-way. The Symposium is offering ten scholarships for students to attend and to present posters – the call for posters is open until June 30. More info is available online: http://www.rights-of-way.org/

New Funding for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program:  If you haven’t yet, register for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Stay tuned for updates. $350 million was included in the 2018 spending bill specifically to address the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Study Abroad

CU Denver Student and Community Counseling Center

The Writing Center
The Center offers: one-on-one and small-group sessions, directed by trained Professional Writing Consultants who are tailored to support students and build more accomplished writers.
