MCJ alumna Natriece Bryant ’09 has been appointed as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Colorado Department of Local Affairs. Natriece joined the department on January 22, 2018.
As part of her duties, she will take on the critical duties of communications director/public information officer, continuing the great progress for the department in making sure DOLA’s messages to customers and the public are timely, positive and consistent. She will also support the operational divisions as they do their critical and mission-focused work of strengthening Colorado’s communities. Some of DOLA’s divisions include the Division of Housing; Division of Local Government; Division of Property Taxation; Division of Assessment and Appeals; and the state’s Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery.
Prior to her role at DOLA, Natriece worked for the Department of Regulatory Agencies in the Divisions of Banking and Financial Services in charge of outreach and public education. She also has worked for the Department of Revenue as the communications specialist for the Division of Marijuana Enforcement as well as the Division of Motor Vehicles in Driver’s License Administration on multiple community issues. Her main role was to inform the public and educate consumers about legislative changes, fraud activity, and new implementation of administrative rules and regulations for the State.
She also worked with marijuana businesses on regulatory issues as well as how to successfully implement a business model in compliance with state law. She was the media relations partner and worked with law enforcement agencies to ensure all businesses were operating in full compliance and outside of the black market, preventing marijuana from entering the hands of children in Colorado.
