Professors Christopher Weible and Tanya Heikkila are featured in the article “Research on energy development could help reduce future conflict” that was posted on CU Denver Today on Oct. 4, 2017. The article describes their National Science Foundation grant proposal “Collaborative Research: A Comparative Diagnosis of Policy Conflicts: Examining Unconventional Oil and Gas Development Across the United States” that received funding for a three-year period beginning in fall 2017.
“With the new project, they’ll refine previous observations by delving into individual policy issues across 15 states. “We’re trying to diagnose: What are the characteristics of those conflicts? How does the design of policy influence the type of conflict that we see? How do the different actors that get involved shape those conflicts?” says Heikkila.”
