Colorado’s local government community will be partnering with School of Public Affairs faculty, students and staff to establish an International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Student Chapter.
The goals of the ICMA Student Chapters are to introduce and integrate students into local government and the management profession, and familiarize students with ICMA members, resources, and the Code of Ethics. There will be a new member orientation in the fall.
The SPA student chapter will host a minimum of six events a year and aims to produce a report and presentation on salient issues at the 2018 ICMA annual conference.
A special thanks to our inaugural steering committee:
- Eric Osterberg, Management Analyst for Adams County
- MPA students and current local government professionals, Jody McClurkin and Jeff Bello
- SPA faculty Todd Ely, Will Swann and Randy Harrison
- Career Services Director Brendan Hardy
Stay tuned — more details will be forthcoming.
