On Dec. 15, 2016, MPA and PhD alum Katy Anthes was appointed Commissioner of the Colorado Department of Education by the elected State Board of Education. Congratulations Katy!
According to the news release issued by CDE, superintendents and other advocates for public education have given Anthes high marks for her commitment to supporting districts on the implementation of education laws and her efforts to listen and work collaboratively to solve problems.
Katy finished her School of Public Affairs dissertation in 2007, focusing on how state education decision makers do and do not use education policy research. Her bio and other information can be found on the CDE website.
