1. Free Trainings and Workshops Through Downtown Colorado, Inc.

2. National MPA Competition
National Public Affairs Student Competition! On Feb. 25, 2017, graduate students from NASPAA schools will compete at 8 global sites around the world in a dynamic daylong competition. Public administration and policy students will analyze a Food Security problem (related to UN Sustainable Development Goal #2) and present their solutions to a panel of expert judges. You can apply as an individual and be added to a team of other MPA students. SPA has had students on winning teams in prior years. Please let me know if you are accepted. We can support participants’ travel and lodging costs. Details online.
3. Paid Internship: The City of Lone Tree
The city would love to see some our SPA’s graduate students apply for their internship position! Please let me know if you apply. They are flexible on how the position is structured and the number of hours, but can’t exceed 20 hours/week.
4. New CJ Policy Internship
Denver Police Department is seeking SPA graduate students to pursue a new internship position. The position will focus on CJ policy and how departments can use research and analytics to develop and implement best practices and efficiencies. The Intern will ultimately identify a research topic on a contemporary issue in policing they would like to pursue while completing the internship. This could be an internship and capstone! 5. COVA Hiring a High Risk Offender Dialogue Position
They would like to see SPA students apply. The deadline is December 15. Details online.

7. Sponsored D.C. Internships
Serve a summer in D.C. and automatically receive a minimum $1,500 scholarship! This program is ideal for students interested in Community Leadership and Engagement and Nonprofit Leadership Alliance students. The early application deadline is Dec. 6 for the Summer 2017 Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service in Washington, D.C. Final deadline is Feb 8, 2017. 8. New Scholarship!
Up to five undergraduate and five graduate students will be awarded a tuition scholarship to attend a Spring 2017 ethics class in the School of Public Affairs. Fellows will participate in a special experiential learning project researching local and national public officials who demonstrate strong ethics in public service within the context of principle-based ethics. Deadline extended to Dec. 8. Details online.
