The Terrace Room in the Lawrence Street Center was at full capacity on Feb. 5, 2016, for a Buechner Breakfast First Friday on “Colorado’s New Water Plan: What Comes Next?”
- Blaine Dwyer, Vice President at HDR, Inc., and Intermountain Infrastructure Exchange (IMX) strategic consultant
- James Eklund, Director of Colorado Water Conservation Board, and main author of the new water plan
- Terry Fankhauser, Executive VP of the Colorado Cattleman’s Association
The panel was moderated by Dr. Tanya Heikkila of the School of Public Affairs and Buechner Institute for Governance.
The event was sponsored by MillerCoors. Gloria Schoch, Community Affairs Manager, spoke briefly about the company’s commitment to water conservation throughout its supply chain. Since 2008, MillerCoors has achieved annual reductions in the amount of water it uses to brew beer.
The final version of the Colorado Water Plan is available online. A print version will be available in March 2016 for a nominal fee.
