Lucy Dwight, senior instructor in the School of Public Affairs, was recently elected Secretary of the Faculty Assembly for the University of Colorado Denver. Her term begins June 1, 2015.
As noted on its website, “The Faculty Assembly is the official voice of the CU Denver Faculty in shared governance on our campus, at our University and at the CU-system level. The Faculty Assembly and its committees are elected by their schools and colleges on campus to represent the interests of the faculty and to work with administration of the campus. …”
Dwight’s election as Secretary is believed to be the first time that a non-tenured faculty member has held an officer position in the Faculty Assembly. The main responsibility of the Secretary is to oversee the election of officers to the Assembly, along with working on projects delegated by Chair Joanne Addison.
“I am honored to have been elected to this position on the Executive Committee and thrilled to have the opportunity to represent my colleagues,” said Dwight.
Dwight also serves as vice-president of the University of Colorado Denver Association of Lecturers and Instructors (UCDALI), a campus organization for all non-tenure-track faculty.
